Scales Prescribed for some Safety, Health and Welfare measures, under Factories Act, 1948 & Maharashtra Factories Rules, 1963.

Cooled drinking water during hot weather		 More than 250 workers ordinarily employed (One water centre for every 150 workers or part of upto the first 450 and one for every 450 workers or part thereof thereafter)

MFR 45		 Latrine accommodation For every 25 workers-1
above 100 workers – 1 for every 50 workers

MFR 48		 Urinal accommodation For every 50 workers-1

6 FA 1948 Sec.43 and
MFR 75		 Facility for storing and drying of wet clothes Applicable to : Engineering Workshop, Iron and Steel Works, Oil Mills, Chemical Factories, Motor Garages, Tanneries, Factories Carrying on dangerous operations.
7 FA 1948 Sec.45(1) and
MFR 76		 First aid boxes or cupboards (equipped with contents prescribed in the State Factories Rules) Applicable to : Engineering Workshop, Iron and Steel Works, Oil Mills, Chemical Factories, Motor Garages, Tanneries, Factories Carrying on dangerous operations.
8 FA 1948 Sec.45(4) and
MFR 78		 Ambulance Room of the Size and with the equipment as prescribed in the State Factories Rules In factories with more than 500 workers.
9 FA 1948 Sec.46 &
MFR 79		 Canteen in the factory or near the factory (Factory to be notified by the State Govt.) More than 250 workers ordinarily employed.
